The Division holds o linear feet of manuscripts and archives in over 5, collections. The strengths of the Division are the papers and records of individuals, families, and organizations, primarily from the New York region. These collections support research in the political, economic, social, and cultural history of New York and the United States. Hours are Monday through Friday, from am to pm; and second Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday visitors are asked to please request special collections material (Rare Books, Manuscripts, Archives, and Visual Resources) via email to [email protected] by noon on the Friday before. Staff welcomes inquiries and will respond in. The Marian Anderson collection is housed in the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts, and is jointly curated by the Libraries’ Curator of Manuscripts and Music Librarian.
